Hello! I'm looking for the best "bang for the buck" gaming laptop for around $1,000. I'd like the most for my money, so I'm open to cheaper items if it means giving up non-mission critical things like a dvd-rom drive, etc. The most important thing to me is gaming performance. Everything else is tertiary.

This is a luxury purchase, so if you tell me "Now is not a good time because of back to school" or some other external pricing factor, I'm cool with waiting for the right deal too. Thanks!

So far I've found: The Lenovo Y410p with a 24g SSD and a NVIDIA GT755M 2GB

The Asus Q550LF with a NVidia GT 745M 2GB

The Lenovo U530 with an NVIDIA 730M 2GB

and the Asus N56JN with an NVIDIA GT 840M 2GB

Please let me know which of these look, to you, like an absolute steal for the money OR if you feel I should wait for something better to come along, or, of course, if you HAVE something better in mind.

Thank you very much!

I agree. The ASUS 840M looks like a cheap laptop, great for the price. The graphics card should run most newer games, and the processor is excellent. Top notch. It has 8GB of memory, which will be very useful for multi-tasking, and the 750GB for storage is great for files, games and programs. I'd recommend it.

Love the suggestion! Unfortunately, the exchange rate does not favor us Yanks. That price shakes out to be around $1,200 here.

£600 = $944
Almost $1000, under the budget.

The processor is great, an i5 works well. The graphics card is an absolute beast.
