Is it worth buying a new TV for a higher resolution?

I hooked up my gaming PC to my 1366x768 resolution TV with HDMI. I tried playing some games on my TV, but I found small texts very hard to read. My TV is 32 inch and my viewing distance is approx. 1,5m. I'm thinking about buying a new TV with 1920x1080 resolution (also around 30 inch). After I hooked that up to my PC with HDMI, do you think I will be able to read the small texts in games without too much difficulties?

That's exactely what I use it for. If I want to game laid back, not-so-serious, I'll game with a controller on my TV. Games likes Assassin's Creed for example. But I play with mouse and keyboard + monitor for shooters and games like League of Legends. I just choose per game if I want to play controller + TV or mouse and keyboard + monitor.
