I recently built a new PC with an amd a4 4000 processor and a gigabyte ga f2a55m ds2 motherboard. But when I turn it on only the fans spin and there is no video on the screen. But I checked in the internet that if you run the PC without the heatsink for a few seconds and check whether the processor heats up then there is no problem with the processor. Is that true? I tried that and the processor heats up so is the processor safe? I gave the motherboard back to the place where I bought it from. So is it the problem with the CPU or the mobo?

PS : I forgot to put the motherboard stand offs because I lost them so is it the motherboard which is dead.

Tell me fast

Thank you

The only way you can tell is to buy a new mobo and fit the CPU.

Just make sure you use the standoffs this time. You could take the CPU to a PC store and see if they will test it for you
