I'd avoid the GTX 480 unless you are getting it for super cheap. The 750ti performs near the same and doesn't turn your case into an oven. Without knowing your power supply, we can't be sure whether the 480 will work in your system. Is there a specific reason you are looking at the much older GTX 480? Also, you probably already know but your cpu is going to hold you back in most newer games.

I'm not sure what PSU you currently are using but a 750 ti requires very little power - what I'm saying is you can probably get a 750ti without having to upgrade your PSU. If you can run a R7 250 you should be able to run the 750ti. What is your current PSU?

^+1 750ti, if you've only got 400W, the 480 was a beast in terms of power, heat and noise, and forget all about the 280. 750ti is the value sweet spot, get it from ebuyer for free delivery, and don't forget you are getting warranty too, there'll be nothing on the 480.
