I need to put together a 4-monitor extended desktop setup for non-gaming purposes. All 4 monitors are supposed to display at 1920X1080.

Since I'm on a very tight budget, I'm going to get a MoBo with on-board graphics supporting only single display out. To support 4 monitors (extended desktop), I'll be adding two Nvidia Geforce 210 (or 220). The MoBo has 1 PCIe X16 (running at X16) and 1 PCIe X16 (running at X4). The MoBo website says it still conforms to PCIe 2.0 standard. The question is, will the PCIe X16 port running at X4 be able to run Nvidia Geforce 210 (or 220)?

Please note that my needs are not graphics sensitive. For a research project in Human Learning and cognition, we need to display 16 Pdf (4 in each of the 4 monitors), all pdfs flipping pages at 1 page /sec.

Yes you'll be fine. The 2nd slot will run the 2nd GeForce 210 just fine for extended desktop. Just make sure those cards have the outputs you need for your specific monitors.

Yes it should work but just incase you should get a BIOS update to make sure that the video card can stoop down to 4X because the GTX 210 is a 16X card just make sure you BIOS update first
