Cores and heat

I'm looking for an amd a8 processor. I initially set out for quad core and found one with 10 cores.
If i had an a8 processor with 4 cores and one with 10 both with the same clock speed would the 10 core one be better for gaming? Also would it also generate more heat?

You are probably talking about 4 CPU cores and 4 GPU cores. They sometimes refer to the APU that way.

well... Yes and no...
One of them has 4 cores. Not sure of what type. The other has four cpu and six gpu

Yeah, I meant 4 + 6, not 4 + 4. Typo.

wait one more thing. This comparison is based on them both having the same amount of cores. So if the 7600 had all ten cores in the comparison. Would it outperform the 5600?
