So I have an i5 4670k at stock 3.4ghz (3.8ghz turbo boost) and was debating whether or not it would be worth overclocking it, I think I could get it to run at about 4.3ghz with a cm hyper 212 evo but is it worth having higher temps, using more power and shortening life span? It is purely for gaming and looking at these benchmarks-http://www.ocaholic.ch/modules/smartsection/item.php?it... there is little difference between stock and 4.5ghz. What do you guys think? Thanks :)

I have the same processor, I just keep it at 3.8GHz and that's it. I wouldn't push it further unless you have an amazing cooling system. At 3.8 it can already run most things without trouble, and it runs at a safe level.

I have a 4670K and run the Turbo @4GHz. I don't bother with oc'ing. Went from a GTX670 to a GTX770 GPU on the same rig and my FPS for the same settings, High and Ultra, increased ~15%.

well i think if u dont oc a unlocked processor than its good to buy a locked processor it will save u some money ....and overclocking processor doesn't gives a boost in games its best use is for rendering and a few cpu intensive games..
