Hello! I have two hard drives. My main one is a 500GB one, which I currently use for Windows. My second, 160GB hard drive has 2 partitions, one 100GB partition for Games and one 50GB partition for small things like pictures. Currently the 160GB disk is Dynamic. I currently have Windows 7 installed on my 500GB hard drive but I'm wondering how could I make a partition on my 160GB HDD, install and boot Windows 8 from that? I'll be formatting my 500GB hard drive (that'll be for games/data/movies/music/ect) while my 160GB HDD will become my main one? I don't want to format my 160GB HDD because it has valuable stuff currently. I'm planning to move that stuff to my 500GB HDD when I get Windows 8 installed.

You say that you have valuable stuff on the drive yet are afraid to format it; this tells me you dont have it backed up anywhere and if that drive dies ... there goes all that stuff you thought was valuable.

Do us all a favor and make step1 : Backup important files. And remember that a backup is another copy of the file, never should it be your only copy. DVD's are cheap if you are wondering how to back them up.

Although I recommend you install win8 to the faster harddrive, which is probably the 500gb, you can install it where you want. With all those files backed up and the 500gb disconnected, simply use win8 install to format and partition the drive by clicking the 'drive options' link from the where do you want to install win8 to...

Alright. It's just that I currently have Windows 7 installed on the 500GB. I'll backup all my data to my 500, format the 160GB one to basic using Disk Management and install to that then go into my motherboard settings and set my 160GB to default boot.
