Hi Everyone,

I have recently finished my new build and i have an error on bootup saying 'cpu fan error'

It's the Corsair H100i liquid cooler and the fans are spinning and making noise so they are running but my system or the Corsair Link software doesn't detect them.

The pump is powered by a SATA connector to the psu and the 2 fans are both connected to the pump (as instructed in the book) and then the usb connector is connected to one of the headers on the motherboard.

The cpu is also idling at about 40 degrees Celsius.

Any advice is appriecated.

it gives you a error because there is no fan connected on the header on the motherboard for the cpu.
you can disable this in the bios.

Make sure its connected to the CPU_FAN conection and that is connected to the Power Supply, Also see if everything is connected. That happened to me also with a H80i and i just connected to power and done.

So I should uplug it from the corsair pump and put it in the mobo instead? Will I be able to set my fan speeds from the bios?

You need to connect the fans in a cable that will go to the pump and then a Mini USB that has 2 cables, SATA for the power supply, check if its connected and other one that you need to connect where it says CPU_FAN, make sure it's connected there, not in case_fan, and it should work, if it doesn't work, try to clean all the connections. Hope this works to you.
