Good evening, I have assembled a quick list of some components of a computer I would like to build before Christmas. I don't think I have forgotten anything, the only thing I am not so keen on is the Gigabyte Mobo, I would prefer an Asus one as i can't fault the one i have in my current machine but for some reason they don't make an ATX size H97 motherboard???

Processor:
Intel Core i5 4590 3.30GHz Socket 1150 6MB L3 Cache Processor - £145.38
Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-H97-HD3 Socket 1150 ATX Motherboard -£68.55
CPU Fan:
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2 - £15.06
GPU:
Asus GTX 770 Direct CU II 2GB GDDR5 - £222.99
RAM:
Crucial 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ballistix Sport Memory - £71.82
Case:
Corsair Carbide 300R Case - £67.18
HDD:
Seagate 1TB Barracuda Internal Hard Drive - £44.99
PSU:
Corsair CSM 750W Semi Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply - £75.71
OS:
Windows 8.1- 32-bit/64-bit Eng Intl DVD - £83.99
DVD drive:
Samsung SH-224DB 24X Internal DVD Writer with SATA - £11.99

Total price: £807.66

Does eveything look ok? Only other thing is potentially swapping out the HDD for a Hybrid drive (SSHD)?

Thanks

Overall you've done a decent job of putting a build together, the only obvious issue is the PSU. It's a relatively poor quality unit and it's also way over the kind of wattage you need, especially given that SLI is not an option here.
If you can live without modular cables then you don't need to break the bank here - the 550W XFX is <£50 and will do the job very well. If you do want a (semi)modular unit then the price does increase a bit, especially if you want to stick with an 80Plus Gold model.
At 80Plus Bronze I'd suggest the XFX650XXX or Seasonic 620. Both are more wattage than you need really, but to get modular units you sometimes have to step up in wattage.
If you do want 80Plus Gold, which isn't strictly necessary...

There are other options, but I'd say those are the pick of the bunch right now.

CPU is fine, though the cheaper models are arguably better value - probably a 4440/4460 will win on bang/buck.

For your Asus motherboard - Asus H97-Plus or Asus H97-Pro are your options if you really want to stick to Asus. Both are arguably a bit expensive for your build though.
The main reason there's not a huge selection of ATX H97 boards is that it doesn't really make as much sense as an ATX form - mATX is usually cheaper and plenty sufficient for the average build in terms of connectors.
If you want M.2 support then you are looking at the aforementioned Asus boards, the H97 Gaming 3 or Gigabyte H97-D3H. The Asus H97M-PLUS is also an option if you are willing to look at mATX.

Cheap coolers are a tricky prospect as they won't necessarily offer much over the stock cooler. I'd personally give the stock cooler a go and see how you get along. If the noise or heat is an issue then you can specifically pick a cooler to fix whatever concern you have.

Other than that you are basically good to go. You can save a little money here and there if you want to cut down the budget, and you could potentially get a little more by going for an AMD graphics card, but it's not a huge saving if you prefer Nvidia.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply Rammy, i will switch out the PSU for the XFX650XXX just so i have some room if i decide to upgrade the GPU again later on.
I might go for the Asus H97 plus or just stick with the current gigabyte board.
I agree with just using the stock cooler, my current machine runs a standard intel cooler and has never faltered either.
