Hello,
I recently purchased a Kingston 2.0 8gb USB flash drive so that I could make a bootable windows USB drive. For some reason I ran into an issue where when I would try to boot from the drive through the boot menu, the drive is listed as "Generic USB Storage Device". When it says this, the drive is ignored and my computer boots as it normally would. I tried plugging it into a different USB port and it says the same. I figured there was some kind of compatibility issue with the drive and my motherboard until I tried plugging the drive into the previous port again. When I checked the boot menu this time, it was listed as Kingston and I was able to boot from the drive. I tried plugging and unplugging the drive a few times to see what happens and sometimes it would be listed as generic and sometimes Kingston. Could there be something wrong with the drive?
