Hi, I am looking to upgrade my gpu to an amd r9 270 but before I make the leap so I can play my games for once (sigh) I need to know if there is any difference in performance between the version of the card that uses one pci slot and the other that uses 2.

any help would be great - also if you have an r9 270 that uses 1 pci slot please tell me how it runs your game on highest (aka. ARMA 3, battlefield ect.) thx =p.

I believe he meant single slot cards/coolers vs dual slot.
In which case they will have identical base performance, but a larger heatsink and fan setup (dual slot card) means higher clock speeds and thus more performance. You should aim for dual slot cards almost always, they tend to run higher base clocks.
PCI slots? Do you mean PCI-Express power connectors? If so, having two of them may possibly allow more overclocking. Other than that, no difference.

I have an R9 270 with a single PCI-Express power connector and it handles BF4, Far Cry 3 etc. well at slightly less than maximum settings at 1080p.
