What is a good wireless router?

There are many options depending on your needs, including number of attached devices, gaming, video streaming, and other devices such as network printing.

If you just want something inexpensive with decent coverage, I like the Netis N300 which is under $50. Other options from TPlink and Trendent are also inexpensive and safe choices.

In my experience, with daily use, a router lasts about 2-3 years.
