Hello I recently upgraded my router from a Linksys WRT54G to a NetGear R6250, connected my computer to it via Ethernet cable as usual and now the NIC has a red light and a blinking amber light instead of the usual green and amber. I've read that that could either mean my computer isn't connected to the network (but I'm connected to the internet just fine), or something to do with the faster router. Does it have to do with the actual home network (like desktop to desktop) or the new connection speeds? I'm not too up to date with router information so any kind of advice/answers are appreciated.

Just a hunch but I suspect the red light means its connected at 1gb speed. You would need to check your nics documentation to be sure though
