Artifacts at startup, please help!

Hello, every time i start my pc i get artifact, after that either it restarts itself or blue screen. If i restart it manually like 5 times the artifacts go and on that day the pc has no problem, the next day on a fresh start same problem, artifacts or blue screen. Maybe the gpu is too cold to start? The room temp is about 30 Celsius
My gpu is a ATI Radeon HD 4850 (XFX Pine Group) 512Mb
My cpu is Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz

Your symptoms may mean a memory (vram) problem with the 4850. Artifacts and bsods usually means that.

Do you still have WARRANTY on your gpu? If yes RMA right away. It has nothing to do about being to cold to start. It wont get better, you got a faulty card.

I dont have warranty, it seems i need to get a new one. Only thing is today when i powered up my pc, no problems. I dont know what could be the problem

Well when you have extreme artifacts like that i dont think it will get better overtime.
It must be some problem with the gpu vram, so you have to buy a new one or live with the problem.

Just to clarify: It's not a software issue, artifacts on startup or during POST are caused by a hardware fault because the system has not loaded any drivers yet.

Before spending any money, there is a few things to try.
Remove and reseat the graphics card, memory modules and any other add in cards, it may just be a poor connection or one that ha become loose over time.
With the graphics card out, inspect it closely, look for any discoloured spots and that the capacitors are all undamaged, their sides should be straight, not barrel shaped and the tops should be flat, any signs of leakage around the capacitors means they/it are damaged as well. To get a really good look you may need to remove the cooler assembly, if you're unsure as to how to do this, let us know and we'll guide you.
Remove and reseat all the power supply cables, again, a connection may have just become loose or poor over time.

I actually did that my self on my old 580 but mine was dying already so it did nothing. It didn't ruin the card more it just did nothing ..

Sounds bad capacitors on the GPU. VRAM will cause that but usually not get better after warming up.
Bad caps will often get better when warm. Still chances are you will need to replace it. Its getting old anyway
