Need advice for a range-extender / repeater

I currently own and use an Asus RT-AC68U in my network. The only problem I have is the range. It is not really too short, but I just need it in my room, which has terrible connection at the moment. The connection to 2.4Ghz, the only band that reaches my room, disconnects regurally. Very annoying.

I am willing to spend some money on a Range Extender or something like that. Problem is that I've already had one, which didn't work at all on this current router, and bad on my previous router.

To give you a view of my situation

---------------Roof------------------

My room:
Need WiFi for phone and laptop
2,4Ghz (5Ghz if possible)

Current situation:
Bad 2,4Ghz connection
No 5Ghz connection

--------------First floor-------------

My brothers and mothers room:
Need WiFi for their phones as well
2.4Ghz (5Ghz if possible)

Current situation:
Mediocre 2,4Ghz connection
Bad 5Ghz connection

--------------Ground---------------

Our home network:
2 Desktops
Network connected TV
Network connected AV-Reciever
Xbox
MediaPlayer
and, ofcourse, the Router

Current situation:
Excellent 2,4Ghz connection
Excellent 5Ghz connection

---------------------------------------

On my router I use
- Dual band private network
- Dual band Guest network
Basicly send out 4 SSID's
- Mac filtering for private network

My previous range extender (the TP-Link WA830RE) didn't connect good with my 2.4Ghz internal network (which I wanted to extend to reach my room). I tried lots of settings to make it match, but it just doesn't seem to work properly with Mac filtering.

I accepted that this device isn't worth trying anymore. Mainly because the times it did work, on my previous router from my ISP, it seemed to be killing my brother WiFi on his phone somehow, which made him shutdown the device all the time. Couldn't find out why it did that. Probably something with struggling to pick the device to connect to.

Today I still have a terrible connection in my room. I want to improve that by buying a decent range-extender / repeater or whatever I need. Since I have an Asus router, I was looking at the Asus EA-N66. I like the fact it also has dual band, which might even make a 5Ghz connection to my room (which is profitable at my home since I have 200Mbps download speed).
Does anyone know anything about this device? What will I be able to accomplish with this device. I would like to accomplish the following points in this order:
- Extended Private network (2,4Ghz) (working with existing MAC filter)
- Extended Private network (5Ghz) (working with existing MAC filter)
- Connected wirelessly to the current router (I have no ethernet cabling on multiple floors)
- Connection wired possible (in case I will ever get cabling on the other floors, or move houses)
- Extended Guest network (any or both bands)

Budget is up to €100,-
note: I live in Holland, so currency is €€€ euro's and links to newegg or amazon are useless :p

Story is a bit messy, but I hope I made myself a little bit clear.
Any help is welcome,
Thanks

I don't think you will find a range extender or repeater that will do what you want it to do. What you need is a wireless AP that connects back to your downstairs router with a wire. Wired ethernet cable is the best but not always practical. If you have COAX cable at both locations you could possibly run ethernet over COAX. Lastly there are powerline adapters that use the power wiring in your house to run ethernet over. Using one of those methods connected to an WAP close to your room would be best.

Thanks for your reply

I was affraid that would be the only option. I do not have any cabling going upstairs. So that would be a problem. Could you recommend any devices if I were to get a cable all the way upstairs?

Oh, right!
I was actually talking about an AP-device, in case I got cabling upstairs. But you bring me more ideas. I have a friend with a Powerline Adapter, which could let me try if I could get a decent connection upstairs. And from that point I can get my own adapter with an AP

Can you move your main Router to a more central location? Like your 2nd floor?

You could use the pair of powerline adapters to enable that, since you evidently have a separate modem and router, unless running an ethernet cable is possible.

My router contains my entire home-network. It has multiple cables connected at that point (it is currently standing in my TV cabin where basicly the heart of my network is). I think my best option would be adding an AP to my network with a powerline adapter. But what are decent AP's? Is the Asus EA-N66 an AP?
