how do i reset old gateway desktop running Millenium back to factory

i have an OLD gateway desktop running windows millenium, (garbage, I know) but i would like to reset the computer to factory settings. I've tried F8 and F11, and i'm not getting anywhere, just not sure if i'm doing it correctly. I'm older and not very computer smart, this was a nolonger used machine that i'd just like to get back to factory settings. I'd really appreciate any help/information i could get.

Back when Win ME was around, to reload the OS you would do it from a CD in the optical drive.

Assuming you lost the disc, I would either clean up the OS loaded, or load a samll linux distro on the computer.
