I want a gaming pc that can play games around high, on 1080p. I want to be able to play fps, and MMORPG. I want the PC to be upgradeable. Also to be able to play all the new games soon to come out..

I want to stay in 675-750 Dollar range

The build must include the OS because i have a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I5 4690
R9 270x
2 x 4GB 1600mhz RAM
Seasonic/Antec/XFX power supply unity. 550W or so.

You want parts like these at your core. Your bread and butter. Normally I would recommend windows 7 but go with 8.1. Windows 7 will loose mainstream support in Jan 2015

Rigs that can play high demand FPS games (Battlefield 4 as an example) on the higher settings are closer to $1500. I'll make a part list though for you to try to get a handle on what you want.

Here's mine:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/eivuwan/saved/mhLFf7

Total: $761.37

CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing $31.87
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ $74.99
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 $72.00
Storage Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $52.92
Video Card Sapphire Radeon R9 280 3GB Dual-X $205.66
Case Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower $56.98
Power Supply Antec 620W ATX12V / EPS12V $41.99
Optical Drive LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer $13.99
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) $102.98

Mine has a weaker cpu (that's still good) for a much better gpu compared to the previous suggestions. The gpu is the most important part for gaming.

This...this is the one. A real beaut.

6 cores at 95W will take to OC's better and most games are threaded around 4 and maybe up to 6. the 8 core is good too, but draws more power and is more effective for gamers + editors/renderers/streamers.

There is the new FX 8370 coming out though in September, maybe wait for that? its an 8 core FX at 95W !!!! should be amazing.

Do i need to have the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 CPU Cooler for AMD/Intel??? or can i just use the cpu cooler that comes with the cpu?

stock coolers are loud and annoying, most people get at least a TX3 to be silent. 212 for overclocking.

about $5 over, but with the FX-8350 8-core on sale for $149.99, its worth the extra $5. You get 8 core top end FX chip, and an R9 280 GPU plus Windows 8.1

Solution

If hes gonna go 8 core he should wait for the FX 8370

This build is decent, but the hdd is low quality. It's made for servers, not home use. should get a better one for $10 more. I'm also not sure about the brand for the case and the psu.

Edit: Also you really don't need an 8 core for gaming. Current games don't take advantage of all the cores. I would rather take the savings from getting a lower core cpu and spread it amongst a better hdd, case etc.
