Black screen and CMOS BATTERY msg

I have an HP Compaq dc 7100 SFF, running on windows xp SP3. The first problem is the black screen after the windows xp start logo (due to the instalation of graphic card driver), and the second is the message I get about the unsaved time (due to the CMOS battery I replaced).

Hello OP,

There could be lot of reasons to go through.

What I feel is you might have installed an incompatible display driver like win 7/win 8/win vista based. That will definitely bring up black screen after windows logo.

For now, the solution is booting up the PC in safe mode. If you aren't able to proceed with it, then I suggest you to format your PC and install a fresh copy of your windows.
