Hey all,

I was wondering if the i7-4790k can handle 2400MHz CL10 G.Skill TridentX (these: http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2400c10d-16gtx) at it's rated speed and latency. I'll be using a 2x8GB kit.
They were made for Ivy Bridge so it'll probably work with Haswell-R as well, but I don't know if changes have been made to the CPU's memory controller and I want to make sure.

Also, will using this kind of high frequency RAM affect CPU overclocking and if so, how much?

See my sig - they work fine. I haven't had any DRAM related issues with OCing the CPU either.

Yep skies the limit with your combo, I've got Tridents a 2666 on my Z87 and 2800 on my Z97 (in sig), the Hero and 4790K are good through 3200 (well most 4790Ks, there will be a few that are weaker than others ;)  )

Awesome, that's great.
I'll stick to the 2400MHz version, those are only €10 more expensive (for a 16GB kit) then the 1600MHz version for some reason. I like. 2666MHz and up is much more expensive.

Thanks guys!
