I am looking at swapping my current disk hard drive with a new SSD. How could I copy all data the the new SSD, without loosing any data. i.e. windows thinks my new ssd is the old one.

^^^ How to move your windows to your SSD without a clean install.. ^^^

From there you can simply drag & drop all your personal files etc, if you want to move full programs over you may have some issues with extentions like .dll files etc. It would be wise to re-install programs on your SSD, just to make sure it runs off the SSD fully.

If you plan to remove your HDD then once windows it moved, you can disconnect it. If you want to keep it as storage all you need to do is specify the location of downloads and installs to your SSD instead of your HDD (found in browser settings & changing directory manually when installing programs)
