So today I went to replace my front fan (it worked intermittently at best) and add a top fan and add some LEDs. Everything worked excellent before this. I unplugged the entire unit after shutting off and moved it to where I'd be working.

After installing the the two fans and plugged in the LED strip, I push the power button, NOTHING. Absolutely nothing.

I originally checked all connections, everything was fine. I then tested the PSU by itself using the paper clip method (after pulling it out of the case) and the fan and LEDs worked fine.

At this point my MB (ASRock Z77 Extreme4) is sitting on a box with the CPU (i5-3570k) and memory (GEiL 8GB 1600) installed only. It does absolutely nothing upon attempting to start. The speaker is plugged in, but no beeps. CPU fan (Coolermaster) doesn't work either. I also get no lights/error codes.

Anyone have anything I a missing here? I can't afford to just replace parts on a whim so I want to get this right.

How would an MB go from perfect to dead like this? I am absolutely beyond frustrated right now and if I knew this was going to happen I wouldn't have bothered with more fans and lights.

Still no luck. The screwdriver method is pretty rough around the edges on this MoBo anyway since it isn't really clear which is the appropriate spot. Either way -- nadda.

In the same boat with my z97 extreme 6. Just died out of nowhere while updating drivers. I love they way the board looks but since I've had it, it's caused nothing but problems.
