Just wondering what kind of Graphics card will work best with a 2.5ghz Core Quad (2008) and 4GB ram without bottle-necking the GPU.. 5 year old machine looking to raise the GPU standard a little since its using a GT220 DDR2 @ 550 MHz clock.
I probably would expect some noticeable bottlenecking past the gtx 750 maybe. The 750Ti might still be alright, but I'm thinking you'll have a more noticeable bottleneck past that point.
Depends on what way you want to go about things. You could easily go overboard on the gpu, and then at a later date transfer that to your next computer, or scrimp by with a lesser card and replace everything later. For now, nothing more than a 750ti or r7 265 will do you.
Been thinking about 730 GDDR5 or R7 250X GDDR5. 900-1000MHz clock. Kind of double the performance. Just wondering if my old Yorkfield Q8300 can hack it. Its slower than a I3.
