Ram Upgrade Question

I have the ( GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD mobo ) and I purchased this RAM ( G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL11D-8GBSR ). While I know this board only supports DDR3 2000 I just assumed it would still run it and just max out at 2000. Is this a safe assumption? I got this cause I plan on upgrading to 990FX mobo with FX8k series chip.

It's going to run at the highest clock speed possible. So if your motherboard is limiting it at 2000 it's going to under-clock to accommodate what is possible.

DRAM will run at what you set it to, if you have a CPU capable of 2133 (i.e. 8320 or better) might well get them to 2133, will prob have to set up manually...by default the mobo will start at either 1066 or 1333 (whatever it's default is)

It has an AMD FX6350 right now.

More likely to maybe run maybe 1866, try at 10-10-10-27 1.6 and CPU/NB voltage at 1.18
