Killer lan, asus lan,etc

What do these do. I have seen asrock/msi killer lan that allows for lan priortizing. Im wondering do these make a difference. Can i download the killer lan/asus lan(dont know what it is called) onto my mobo if its not pre-installed.

No, those are chipsets with inbuilt prioritizing for network traffic which is supposed to reduce lag and latency. Honestly, I haven't seen any data that definitively shows a lot of improvement over software based network traffic shapers or even mainstream network adapters. AMD Quickstream and ASRock Xfast LAN supposedly do the same things with software but I've not seen much improvement, and in fact have seen issues, using those.

the killer lan is the stuff can help you manage yout network traffic, if you are the multi-program user(like to play game and DL/watch online video at same time), the killer lan will help you a lot while gaming. if not, I think it doesnt have any different between Intel and killer lan
