I upgraded my PC to 6x 4GB RAM sticks back in February. Everything has been working perfectly for 6 months until I have started getting MEMORY_MANAGEMENT crashes lately, and now my PC doesn't use any more than 2GB of RAM at a time.
When I open my Task Manager, it shows:
In use: 1.5 GB / Available 22.5 GB

My computer properties:
Windows 8.1 Pro
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 24.0 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Solution

Seems to be the case.In that case it's most likely a motherboard issue. It won't start with one stick in whichever slot?

I always put unpacked bios files on a usb stick and use the bios tool so no not really.

The link for @bios near the second bios gives a download for it,
http://download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/Utility/motherboard_utility_gbttools_gbt_atbios.exe
to use this...

Since this is a recent issue, probably related to something new installed(either program or update). Look through system restore and try to find a date preceding the issue.

That seems right to me? 22.5+1.5=24

Can you do the next?

Download the next program,
http://www.hwinfo.com/download32.html
open it,click run, close the top window which is the system summary, click save report at the left top,in the next window at the bottom check=dot "short text report" after that next, you'll get to see what is in your pc,copy that by clicking "copy to clipboard" and right click and paste in you next post.

That is why I am stumped. No matter what I use, my usage will never exceed 2GB even running multiple instances of games, broadcasting software, and other processes in an attempt to use more. The computer will perform slowly and/or crash instead of use more than 2GB memory.

Here are my results.

That still doesn't explain this,

The ram also works at a strange speed=539 MHz, 7.0-7-7-20,you'll need to multiplie by two->539x2=1078,but still, your ram should be able to run at 1600mhz @ 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5V.Maybe that having 6 modules has something to do with this,

Can you enable the xmp settings in the bios to see what it does for your ram?

Maybe even up the voltage to 1.55 not more than 1.65V to see if that helps.

You could run memtest86 per module, but that's going to take some time to see if one has problems.

The system will not use more than 2 GB. The Performance tab of my Task Manager caps at 2GB and regardless of what I am opening or running, it will not use more than 2 GB.
If I try to do anything that takes memory (such as open a browser window), I am usually faced with a BSOD and force-restarted.

I have done that now, and upped the voltage to 1.6v and do not see any results thus far.
Continual BSOD's when attempting to do much of anything. I'm in the process of backing up files to an external drive to prep for the inevitable or system restore.
I've noticed that I don't blue screen when starting up a game, but the moment I go for a browser (Any of them- Chrome, FF, IE), it's 90% certain to crash my system.

In addition to Memory_Management (most frequent) some of my other BSOD messages have been:
DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
BAD_POOL_HEADER
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

BIOS Date 08/24/10 Version FB
Let me know if I missed a piece that you were looking for. Help is much appreciated, since you seem to be the only one who read what the actual problem i'm having is...

There's most certainly a newer bios, but i need to be sure if you got rev 1.0 or rev 2.0 for your motherboard although looking at that combination i think that you've got rev 2.0.

Does it say which one on the motherboard itself somewhere? The name is probably somewhere on it with this info next to it or look at the left bottom corner of the motherboard.

I guess i can already lonk this one for you so if you're sure you could try to update the bios,
http://www.gigabyte.co.nl/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3449#bios
strange thing is that the FB bios isn't mentioned. You should really try the FH bios and read carefully about the how to update the bios.

Maybe updating this will help with the issue.

If you've got rev 1.0 is there this link,
http://www.gigabyte.co.nl/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3305#bios

You have no stability issues when in the bios?! Updating the bios can brick your motherboard when it goes wrong so make sure you're ok with it.

Does the system boot up fine with just one stick in the first white slot from the cpu? Maybe look at this first!

Did confirm, Rev 2.0 printed on the motherboard itself. I downloaded the BIOS update for Rev 2.0 and downloaded the FH version. When I went to install via QFlash but received an error that the file is not the correct size.
Looking further into it, seems the recommended path is use either @bios or FlashSPI. When I go to the Gigabyte utilities download site, I don't see an @bios version that specifically lists my x58 motherboard. Suggestions on how I should proceed with updating my bios?

Just 1 stick of memory I cannot get it to boot (tried the left-most white slot, and the right-most white slot).
I can, however, replace my 6x 4gb sticks with my old 3x 2gb sticks and still have the 2gb usage bottle neck... I think this means my RAM is not the problem?
