Solution
Generally (for me about 90% of the time, it will update fine, make a backup of all your data files, make sure Win8 is fully up to date, install the drive and boot. It will normally examine all the new hardware and install it's default drivers and you should be up and running, download and install the latest mobo drivers for the new mobo, then run a good registry cleaner (Wise has a free one), then will probably have to re-activate
