Hi guys.

I just bought a wireless range extender, ands have gone through the stages of setting it up. After doing so, my windows PC couldn't access the internet through the repeater. So I thought it was a problem with the repeater, and switched back to the router I was previously using (which worked fine just minutes prior). Of course, that now isn't working. I can connect to both just fine, they just show no internet access. To make matters stranger, I'm currently using my Macbook Air which has internet access through both devices.

So this suggests something has gone haywire on Windows end. So I reset the wireless adaptor, and router/repeater. I also ran Windows troubleshooter, power cycled my PC and even did a system restore, all to no avail. I did suspect the wireless adaptor, but it would be extremely coincidental for it partially break at the exact time I try and hook up a new device.

I'm pretty stumped how something as simple as connecting to a repeater can cause such a disruption. Any advice on what might be going on? Cheers.

The windows laptops have this kind of problem. Ensure the adapter set to automatically detect IPv4 settings or set a static IP in router and configure adapter accordingly. And/Or try reinstalling drivers. Usually windows users had to reinstall windows to get the connectivity!
