Monitor black screen help?

Hey so usually when I wake up and turn on my monitor it goes black screen after 2 seconds or so and stays there. I have to turn on/off the monitor about 3-5 times before it finally stays on for the rest of the day until I go to sleep and then the problem repeats. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Thanks
