So I just upgraded a computer for someone and I pulled a Phenom II 1045T from the old computer. I was wondering if it was worth anything? I mean it was an ok CPU back in it's time but I can't see to many people lining up to buy a 5 year old.

More about : phenom 1045t worth

It's still a good CPU now, and I wouldn't be upgrading it.

Look to see how much they sell for secondhand on eBay.

I mean you won't make tons of money off it, but it's still a powerful CPU. I wouldn't mind having one if I had an fm2+ motherboard. If I was you, I would just put it up for sale in the "deals" section on this website and ask for the best offer. Or put it on ebay and I can almost guarantee it would sell.

The thing is, they are hard to find. Any of the 6 core Phenom ii's are hard to find...especially the higher end ones like the 1045, 1075, 1090, and 1100 being the best one.

It uses the AM3 socket, not the FM2+ socket.

Oh my bad. Thanks for the correction. So could you use it on the am3+ socket then?

I'd assume so, though it would be a downgrade from your current CPU.

Oh absolutely. I have an extra am3+ motherboard..pretty much everything except a hard drive, CPU, and OS to make another computer. Feel like it might be fun to play around with overclocking the Phenom 1045t.
