I don't really love Windows 8. I have 8.1 on my laptop, and I have got used to it for the most part, but I still prefer how Windows 7 runs and works.

I will be needing to decide on an OS for my new PC build in the next month, and I would like to go with Windows 7, but I'm not sure about investing in such an old OS. Support for 7 will likely stop before I upgrade this new PC. I know upgrading my OS down the road isn't a big deal, but should I just bite the bullet and get 8.1 now?

Are the any performance differences between Windows 8.1 and 7 for programs such as Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and Photoshop?

Thanks for any advice.

I will gladly choose Windows 7 over Windows 8. I also don't care for 8, but I haven't used it for any advanced editing programs. If these programs would benefit from running on Windows 8, then I might think about using it.

Has anyone used any of the programs I mentioned on both Windows 7 and 8, with any differences in performance?
