cpu: wolfdale e6600 3.02
gpu: nvidia gt 520 2gb
ram: 3gb (1x2 1x1)
1 hdd 7200rpm sata

how much power am i consuming at full load? nvidia claims that this gpu consumes 29 watts.
intel claims e6600 wolfdale has a tdp of 65w.

so i should believe that i consume 65+29 at full load?

bonus question is... does integrated gpu's consume their own power? I could upgrade to an i3 4330 and use it's integrated graphic card, is it worth it just to save power? how future proof is the i3 4330? thanks

From what I know with the specs you have, only 350W minimum is the minimum. No integrated GPU consumes from the either from the CPU which most do OR the inboard graphics on the motherboard.

The i3-4330 will last a few years if you don't play games.

What is your main use and how much can you spend to build a computer?

Admirable
With this build you are currently using around 300 watt... I wouldn't upgrade to the i3, overclock your current processor and when it dies or when you get some more money go with i5/i7 or AMD FX series

If you really want to go for the i3 go with i3-4130

sorry ... maybe i didn't explain myself very well...i have a cx 600 watt from corair, i don't need to know what's the minium, i need to know how much power i am really consuming while gaming and how much power would i save going to an i5 or i3 with integrated 4600 graphics.

What games are you playing? But I just guess you are only using about 300W or less. You wouldn't save any power it will consume slightly more.

by removing the gt 520 and using the intel integrated 4600 i wouldn't save power?

Oh sorry I might have missed that part. You will probably save 200W or so.
