Hello!

I am planning on upgrading from an GTX460 1GB to a new ASUS R9280 3GB DirectCU II (http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/R9280XDC2T3GD5/) (getting with the times!). However, I, before ordering, just wanted a professional to check if it was compatible for my motherboard and PSU:

Here is a link: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A99X_EVO_R20/

Here is a link to my power supply, too: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes the GPU will be fine and will fit with the PCIx16 port. Yes the power supply will be enough but there isn't enough headroom for future expansion. But it will do fine.
