My old windows XP Pro pc got the blue screen and I want to get my pictures and transfer them to another pc. How can I do that?

The Bluescreen likely indicates that the OS is having issues with coming up. That does not mean the data on the hard drive is completely corupt.
You should be able to move the hard drive to a working machine as a secondary drive and be able to pull off the data you want.

You can take out the hard-drive and install it in an external enclosure, or use Linux Live Boot CD and boot off that. Then use an external drive to copy the files you want to get from the drive. They should all be in the Users directory under your account name.
