When gaming getting noise from GPU/PSU area

I keep getting this strange noise when gaming. It sounds like the HDD constantly loading but it's definitely not the HDD as I've checked it numerous times and the located the sound away from the HDD. My GPU, GTX 460, is years old now got it cheap from a friend as it was better than my old HD 6670 however it's been running fine for a year, only recently has this noise started. I would be surprised if it was my PSU as that's a couple of month old Corsair CX600M. I don't mind fans getting noisy but this sound is awful and loud enough just to put me off playing. It happens constantly when playing Guild Wars 2 and running on Auto Detect settings, but no problems on lowest settings also fine on other less graphical intensive games. GW2 on auto detect runs the GPU up to ~74C, CPU ~40C. Any idea's? Or need more info?

Try setting a manual fan speed at different percentages with your video card. It sounds like the fan bearing is going on your video card to me. One of my cards does the same thing, so I set a manual fan speed that the noise does not occur at. If you try a bunch of different speeds and the sound doesn't change, then look to your power supply next.

If there is a lot of dust in the video card cooler, clean that out as well. Your card being 4 years old could probably use a little TLC

It probably does need a clean out to be honest but I will try and increase fan speeds like you said, thanks for your reply!

UPDATE: It is the GPU fan I will clean it out and see if it improves, if it is a bearing however is this bad news? Or could I still use it and put up with the awful noise?

Just set a manual fan speed that is high enough to cool the card and the sound does not persist. My card for example is quiet between 65%-80% so I set it in games to 70%. When at idle I set it to 50% and there is no sound at all anyway. You may have to tweak the speed from time to time, but you should get a bit longer out of it yet. When it makes a loud screech and just stops alltogether it's time to look for a replacement fan or a new video card. I would suggest a new card when the time comes
