Hello,

My PC screen just froze and now it won't display anything when I start it up. When my GPU is connected it beeps three times, once long and two short. So I've disconnected the GPU and connected my monitor onto my onboard GPU and this works fine. Now I'm not an expert so my conclusion would be the problem lies with the GPU.

Can anybody help me with this problem?

Also, I currently have no access to any other hardware or PCs to test anything on. I'd have to carry my PC down with me in the train for this to be possible which is quite impossible.

Specs:

GPU: AMD Radeon 6990
MB: MSI Z68A-G45
Processor: intel i7-2600k

And some other stuff I'm not quite sure of out of the top of my head.

Well yes it sound like a GPU problem... but most likely it really is a PSU problem. I would buy a replacement PSU and install it and the old GPU if it works you are good to go... if not just return it. and do the same for a GPU.

Those beeps are code for issues during post. That particular code indicates there was an error occurring from the gpu and the BIOS cannot iniatilize the display. Like cyrilk said, it could be the psu not providing enough power. If that is not the case, then your video card has most likely died on you.
