I have a pc with one monitor but I'm planning on purchasing a Playstation 3. My question is can I plug in my ps3 to my monitor without having to unplug my pc-monitor wires? And can I switch between the pc and ps3 whenever I like or do I just have to buy another monitor?

Depends on the model of your monitor. If your monitor has two inputs, you can switch between them whenever you like.

Yes you can plug ps3 to your monitor without having to unplug your pc-monitor wires.. You will plug you ps3 to your monitor using HDMI cable and computer will be connected to your monitor using VGA/DVI cable

(make sure your monitor has HDMI port)

Then use the HDMI to connect it to the PS3 and use something else for your PC. Of course you can use HDMI for both if your monitor has two HDMI inputs.

DVI cable is BETTER than HDMI cable for PC GAMING, so would use DVI to plug pc - monitor and HDMI for ps3 - monitor

Do most monitors have two hdmi inputs? Because I don't have my monitor at the moment. It's a Samsung monitor 21 inches but that's all I remember it's 1080p as well

Most monitors don't have 2 HDMI inputs, but most have 2 different inputs (DVI and HDMI for example), so using two different devices with a single monitor is usually possible.
