i5s are pretty good CPUs and the Athlon can be a little bit of a bottleneck when upgrading GPUs unlike the i5, the i5 can also overclock if you need to in the future. I also changed the graphics card to a 2gb GDDR5 card. 2GB GDDR5 can basically handle any game on max settings.

I didnt add a keyboard or mouse but I would not go for a keyboard that expensive, same for the mouse. Logitech is a good brand to look for keyboards and mouses.

Just remember in mine craft if you go to Video Settings in game and turn fullscreen on you can sometimes double the fps

I'd guess that actually lowers the FPS some, because you are making minecraft a higher resolution.

It doesn't actually. Don't know why, but it doesn't.

It improves the fps because in fullscreen mode because Windows doesn't have to render other programs and the desktop.
