My PC makes unusual sounds

Well idk how to call it but you know the sound that the PC makes when you turn it off? like on the second before it compleatly shuts down it makes a sound and the PC goes off, so my PC makes that sound like 2-3 times a day but nothing happens should I worry? what dose makes that sound how do I stop it?

Is the particular sound coming from the CD/DVD drive by chance?

I did not had that sound before going on from my PC I think it comes from my HDD and my CD/DVD dose not makes this kind of sound.

If you mean the Windows 'shut down' music, that is a add on 'audio feature' to liven up the Windows experience and is NOT directly related to an actual 'function' of Windows. That the sound is used for OTHER things is the same thing as if you set your Cell Phone Tone to not only tell you you have a IM but you just Butt Dialed someone, your setting (as Windows is set also) that SOUND for multiple 'things'.

If you go to Control Panel, Sound, then the Sound Tab, it lists each 'thing' that has a 'sound' set to it and what 'sound' that is. So for example when a new email comes in can be the SAME sound as when you MINIMIZE a Window. You can check here to look for the SHUT DOWN sound, then see what 'else' it is set to, maybe your getting SKYPE IMs and don't' realize it?

Fand and hard drives change rpms and your hard drives can even turn off if they are idle for long enough.

Without an actual audio clip to hear the sound and with there being no issues wiht the PC this is most likley what it is, thus nothing to worry about.
