New processor or not?

Hey, I was going to get some ram for my PC but my motherboard would only hold 8GB. I therefore decided to get a new motherboard for the first time. Soon after looking into motherboards I found that they are processor specific. I currently have an AMD processor but I'm wondering if an upgrade to intel is a good idea. Although by December I can pull together around £400 I planed to but 3 IPS screens for a triple screen display (also can my pc run that?). I liked the look of the i7 processors but of course price is a problem. So what would you advise, I also would like to avoid any bottlenecking. Thanks, Ed.
PC Specs:
RAM: 4GB DDR 3
GPU: ASUS GTX 760
CPU: AMD FX4100 Bulldozer Quad Core 4x3,6GH
MOBO: ASUS (unsure of specifics)

Solution
For gaming only you can get a i5 4690k with a z97 board for under £300, if you do graphical or 3d work then you can get a i7 4790k, both these option won't bottlenecm at all

I would go with this, if you are thinking of going with i7. You get i7 performance for less. ;) I chose an SLI capable board, with an M.2 slot should you decide you want those features. Can always go cheaper if not.
