bizarre problem with define r4

Hi,

recently bought a fractal design r4, all put together fine. However when I boot up the pc the fans do not turn on, here's the weird bit, when i open the door on the front the fans start to work.

When i shut the door, i can hear a distinctive clicking sound and the fans shut off.

Does anyone know what could be happening?

I took the front off and the magnet that is meant to hold the door closed has came off and stuck to the fan controller. if we leave the magnet on it runs but as soon as we take it off it cuts out. Is it bad to leave the magnet attached to the circuit board of the fan controller?

Some fan controllers use magnetic coils to adjust the fan speed.

Fractial may have that magnet there as part of the system, or there may be a issue in the controller causing this issue.

I would get on the phone with Fractial and talk to support to see if you can work your way up to getting a high tier support or even an engineer on the phone with you.

it definitely wasn't part of the fan controller, I took it apart and it had came free from a hole in the door. Fortunately im receiving a free replacement as it is a faulty case!
