I have a fairly old (5 years at least) 16:10 Venturer TV/Monitor It's a complete mix of both. anyway when in windows the maximum resolution is 1440 x 900. I fired up my xbox 360 and to my surprise when I clicked 1080p it actually displayed and the little text popped up in the top left that tells you the resolution changed popped up as always. Does VGA limit resolution or something because im using VGA for my computer (Embarrassing I know) and Component for my 360.

This was very rushed so please excuse any typos.

do you have your GPU drivers installed?
and is there anyway you can find out the exact model number of your TV so you can Google its resolution?
but VGA can do 1080p

OK Now I have more questions. 1. It says the max pc resolution is 144 x 900 that is all it says about resolution. But it clearly does support 1080p. Why would they limit the PC resolution?
2. It says the maximum refresh rate is 70Hz but windows only allows to to select 60 Hz. Any Idea why? and yes all my drivers are up to date.
