Ok so I have gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 mobo and AMD FX 6300 processor.
My problem is that I am getting one sided audio from the rear as well as the front panel. I have VIA codec on the motherboard.
Things I have tried-
Upgraded from win 7 to win 8.
Re-installed the updated audio drivers.
Replaced my mobo.
Gave it to the service centre.

but still the problem persists. I would be happy if I get any help.

I mean when the headphones/speakers jack is completely inserted in the panel it gives one sided audio(only left side works) and when I partially insert the headphone/speaker I get mono sound but not stereo.
Thanx for your response. Past 2 months I am having this problem please help me and dont ignore.

This is likely some setting you have set, check your audio device manager or the software tuner it came with, its unlikely the board seeing how you're getting the same issue on a new board. Also could be your case connector, have you checked the sound coming out of the back on the motherboard.

Yes brother I checked from both the panels. Can you please elaborate the sound settings? coz I've tried the basic settings like setting it to default and likewise. For the VIA codec I have Via Hd manager/widget which does nothing but sh*t. I also uninstalled the NVIDIA HD audio but still nothing.

I cant really give you a step by step with the VIA sound manager, but this is quite puzzling. This be one of those cases where remote assistance could be helpful. Its what id normally do for a customer. Im not sure if this is against the rules or not. But if you wanna give it a try with a remote assistance request to my email *Removed*

well I switched back to Windows 7 and my headphones are of Intex 3.5mm jack and what did you said about remote assistance?

I know you tested both a set of headsets and speakers to it, have you tested those same speakers/headset an another computer/audio input device. Just as a sanity check to eliminate the possibility that both of them have bad plugs on them.

If two working good devices only have mono audio on both the front and rear ports, and you have replaced the board and downloaded new drivers from the motherboad OEM then it seems likley that it is a settings issue.

One thing else you might try is to remove the front panel audio connector and then try it in the rear port, possible the front port is bad and causing a short or other issue causing only mono audio.

I will reasearch your audio chip and see if it is a known problem.

Thank you for your reply boosted1g but this VIA menu doesn't gives any 5.1 or 7.1 it detects my headphone and speakers. I ve taken a screenshot of the VIA deck but not able to post it.
