AMD FX-8350 with Cooler Master Seidon 120M

Hi, I've used my watercooled 8350 since a year right now, and my CPU got a bit hot, for what I expected. Today my pc gave me a notification that my CPU was running over 65,0 degrees celsius, while it was idle. I'm a bit worried about the cooler, I've got the feeling that it isn't running as it supposed to be running, now it idles at around 40 degrees celsius, is this a OK temperature? Under load it doesn't get hotter than 70 degrees celsius.

An AMD CPU shouldn't be hitting over 65C. It will start throttling to keep itself cool. As for the seidon, did you apply the thermal paste properly? do You have enough airflow in your case and what not?

Well, I think my airflow is OK, and I replaced thermal paste after the problem, about the size of a thick grain of rice. So I really don't know what the problem is...

check the backplate (if you have one) and make sure things on the cooler are installed in the right orientation. Small little things can mess up a cooler installation.

Check if there's enough airflow going through the radiator. It shouldn't be running that hot...

Well, I think I just might get a new case, the NZXT Switch 810, and a new cooler, with a 240mm rad, I just don't trust my cooler anymore..
