Suggest me an optical drive

I pulled off an optical drive off of an older computer but i dont know if it will work. I have 3 sata 6 cables left and i cant find the port on the old one. Will it work without the cable or should i get a new one?

should have a ribbon cable or a small black set of ports. that aside, just see what is on sale, you can usually find a bunch for under 20 USD shipped on newegg/amazon/tigerdirect

Pcpartpicker.com can help you find a deal, and i've had good luck with the cheaper samsung/asus/lg/liteon drives. (all for about 14-17 USD each, shipped)
