Hi guys,

I have been trying to configure my TP-LINK modem-router as a wireless repeater in the past 4 days, but with no succeed. Here's what I've done so far:

No matter what I do, I simply can't get my TP-Link W8961ND to connect to the UBEE DDW262P (MAIN modem-router).

==================================================================
The following are the details for the UBEE DDW262P:

LAN IP address is [removed]
DHCP ON
DHCP IP pool range: [removed]
[removed] IP address reserved for the TP-LINK in the UBEE's DHCP Client list.
WDS ENABLED, filled with 2 devices Wireless MAC's (2 repeaters).
CHANNEL set from "Auto" to 6.
WEP password (I know its not really safe)
==================================================================

I have tried the following combination of settings on the TP-Link W8961ND (192.168.1.2)
(Configured using an ethernet cable connected to the computer)
a)

Activate Access Point.
Change the channel to the same as the UBEE.
Change the "SSID" of the Wireless network to match UBEE's.
Change "Authenticaction Type" to "WPE", using the same password as UBEE's.
Enabled "WDS", filled the "MAC ADDRESS" with UBEE's MAC address
Disabled DHCP
New IP Address: [removed]
Subnet Mask [removed]

b)

Activate Access Point.
Change the channel to the same as the UBEE.
Change the "SSID" of the Wireless network to match UBEE's.
Change "Authenticaction Type" to "Disabled".
Enabled "WDS", filled the "MAC ADDRESS" with UBEE's MAC address
New IP Address: [removed]
Subnet Mask [removed]

c)

Activate Access Point.
Change the channel to the same as the UBEE.
Change the "SSID" to "TP-LINK".
Change "Authenticaction Type" to "Disabled".
Enabled "WDS", filled the "MAC ADDRESS" with UBEE's MAC address
New IP Address: [removed]
Subnet Mask [removed]

c)

Change the channel to the same as the UBEE.
Change the "SSID" of the Wireless network to match UBEE's.
Change "Authenticaction Type" to "WPE", using the same password as UBEE's.

Disabled DHCP
New IP Address: [removed]
Subnet Mask [removed]

==================================================================
When I disable DHCP the TP-LINK modem-router becomes inaccesible.
[removed] wont load at all.

I have used this guides, from where I followed to the letter, with no succeed.

I also have a NETGEAR ROUTER WNDR3400v2, configured and working as a Wireless Repeater, using WDS of course.

Is there any difference between configuring a TP-LINK or maybe it has some trick to get it to work. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Yes ... I was thinking of buying a nano WIFI from TP-Link myself because they are so cute. Purpose was to have a wifi-usb hub for my tablet (to turn it into a Desktop). I purchased instead a Samsung se208bw smart hub for the same purpose.
You seem more advanced then me with all this.. but I think we want the same thing.

So I was wondering if one could enable the WDS (which I use to connect to my 3g modem from around the house) while at the same time, not have it disable my DHCP, making me have to reset the smart hub so that I can log onto it again.
The smart hub sees my modem WIFI AP's MAC address with no problem, but once I enabled the WDS, i lose all DHCP and have to start all over again.

I'm thinking you are after the same thing...

I'm thinking you are after the same thing when you say "wireless repeater".
I need to do this becase I can only connect to one wifi AP with my tablet, so it has to be internet enabled.

Cheers!
