Equal bandwidth between wireless router and access point

I have a wireless router that doesn't provide coverage to part of my house. I want to install an access point, but I want to make sure that clients connecting to the access point have equal access to bandwidth as those connecting to the wireless router. What is the best way to make this work?

Thanks!

Your router will not be biased on allocating bandwidth bassed on which wireless source they are using. You can change settings in QoS to give devices or programs priority if you wish though.

Now if your access point is in fact a repeater using wireless to communicate not just with your client devices but with the primary router then it will suffer in bandwidth as it has to spend half of its resources communicating back to your primary router. You can use a second wireless radio or powerline networking to reduce this, but it will not be truley equal.
