I have two Graphics cards installed currently: my Nvidia Quadro fx 1800 and my Nvidia geforce gtx 760; however, it wont let me use my gtx 760 to play games, it uses the fx 1800 as default. for example, i play minecraft and skyrim, skyrim utilizes the gtx 760, but minecraft will not. how can i set minecraft to use the gtx 760 as well?

It might be in your quadro's settings to override the 760. I would also make sure the 760 is in in the PCIe slot closest to your CPU. The computer recognizes the card in the first slot as the primary.

i believe it is my fx 1800, however i thought if i were to move the window to the desktop that is plugged into the gtx 760, it would register it as using the gtx 760.

Thank you, i got it working, i didnt even think about checking the settings for the card.

bad news, it was working fine at first but it switched back to the 1800, so i decided to swithc up the cards inside my computer, and that didnt work either. im not sure what to do next. minecraft is just being a pain

did it give you a reason? like an error message? or did it automatically switch with no warning? Sometimes my Nvidia settings didn't stick even when I hit apply and accept for them. So, you might have to switch it multiple times before it sticks.
