What/how should I clean in my computer?

I understand that I should clean my computer every 6 months or so.

Now my question is this: what exactly should I be cleaning? I know the fan and the back of the case panel for sure can build up a ton of dust. But should I clean anything else? Should I take out any parts? Should I clean individual parts? What shouldn't I clean?

I'm generally very good with my electronics. I treat them like a baby sometimes lol. But I don't want to put rubbing alcohol or water on something that I shouldn't or do anything unnecessary.

The ONLY time you should introduce liquid to any component of your computer is when you are using isopropyl alcohol for cleaning old thermal paste from your processor/heat sink and that should be done with both components removed from the chassis. Otherwise, as eduello states, just use a can of compressed air for cleaning the fans and blowing out dust. Also as Eduello suggests, when cleaning fans with a can of compressed air, hold the blades in place to prevent them from over-spinning and burning out the bearings.

My only other suggestion is if some dust cannot be removed with just a can of compressed air, I've used an old toothbrush to loosen the dust/gunk from the blades and then air to blow them clear.
