Hello I am going to be crossfireing 2 r9 290 tri-x cards and was wondering if my cx750m psu will be good enough, I also have an i5 4670k, 2 ssd's 2hdd's and a bluray and dvd drive. Some people say it will fine but just wanted to here 2cents
@georgew91 I didn't mean to be harsh. I'd rather be a jerk for a second and get the point across rather than try to be too "nice" and now you've burnt your system. It's a lot of work but that's WHY you should upgrade. I feel your pain. Corsair does have a lot of nice sleeved cables you can purchase in varying colors and there are aftermarket choices as well.
Those are for the EVGA 1000 Supernova and they are red black and white single sleeved. I haven't bought from there but the website looks extensive in the arena of mod diy sleeved cabling. Hope this helps!
1000W is overkill for sure. They list wattage assuming you have a low quality PSU to cover their bases, but still, it's what I would get if it were my system being built.
Recommended 1000W PSU in CF. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. You've spent a lot of money already. Don't be cheap about the power supply now and risk ruining your entire system. I've heard of people "getting away" with lower psu values etc and then a month later, a year later or some time quantity x later they have an unusual problem with their system and can't figure out what's wrong because "everything's been fine for months" and then they list their system specs and we find something like this all of the time. Recommendation: DO NOT do it this way. I wouldn't advise any of my clients or friends to do this. Please wait until you can get the right psu.

This review at Guru3D recommends a minimum of 800w PSU(they are usually spot on)
Damn its not a matter of being cheap its the fact I have single sleaved braided cabbles that took me days to do and get right might sell the cx750m then and buy a 1000 to futureproof me
Expensive that way. Also I had tri-x 290s in crossfire, I opted for the evga 1300, just because I figured if I was upgrading my PSU may as well do overkill and never worry about it again.

If I run into something that meets your needs and is a uk website I'll be sure to update you. Let us know how it goes and maybe post some pics when you get it all done!
